Like a focused person putting together pieces of a jigsaw puzzle, Al Gore is busy with several projects to advise individuals and business about how to save the environment by switching to carbon free energy. Gore's website has the latest, and often disturbing, climate news feeds from “Environmental Health News.” Visitors will also find “Al’s Journal,” Gore’s book, DVD, and links to his global warming and climate crisis solution projects.
Gore is a true friend of the environment, a Nobel laureate and former American Vice President. His movement slogan is “America must commit to producing 100 percent of our electricity from renewable energy and other clean sources within 10 years.”
The Alliance for Climate Protection: “The We Campaign”
Viewers can see the video of Al Gore’s speech about how to protect our climate. Links are provided for reading “We Can Solve It,” a nonprofit citizens movement founded by Gore. The project states that the mission of the alliance is to educate people worldwide about our climate crisis, and to provide solutions for the ultimate goal of stopping global warming.
The Climate Project claims to have more than one thousand U.S. citizen volunteers to help educate the public and business about global climate change. Workable and potential clean energy solutions are discussed. The goal is to raise the awareness of as many citizens as possible about why our fragile planet is teetering on the precipice of a global disaster.
Live Earth Environmental Entertainment Includes Madonna, Kelly Clarkson, Bon Jovi, and More
Live Earth was a popular musical event staged July 7, 2007, to raise awareness about global climate change and suggest solutions. 150 music celebrities performed. Concerts were held in New York, Johannesburg, Hamburg., Shanghai, Sydney, Tokyo, and London. More concerts are planned for the future.
Live Earth was founded by Kevin Wall and they partnered with Gore’s Alliance for Climate Protection and the SOS campaign message. Live Earth claims media exposure has motivated many businesses and individuals to join with Gore.
Generation Investment Management LLP, “A Carbon Neutral Firm,” is chaired by Al Gore with offices in London and Washington D.C. The corporation’s theme is to research “carbon neutral” businesses that can integrate with the global community taking into consideration climate change, needs, if the technology is world applicable, water, and area.
T. Boone Pickens Not 100% Carbon Free Projects
The T. Boone Pickens site touts carbon free wind energy for electricity which goes along with Gore’s carbon free goal. His promotion of natural gas to fuel our cars is not carbon free energy. Pickens quotes from the California Energy Commission, “...critical greenhouse gas emissions from natural gas are 23% lower than diesel and 30% lower than gasoline.”
The dissenters of the belief that the climate crisis is attributable to green house emissions believe global warming is due to natural causes. Gore is hard at work to negate this view through his projects.
Al Gore has integrated his projects for the purpose of raising environmental awareness with entertainment, education, recruiting individuals and businesses to participate, and providing financial research so businesses can maintain profitability when switching to or launching carbon free technologies.
